DEVELOPMENT NOTES
Original work. Proper permissions.
How the eventual book avoids becoming a copied-thread compilation.
The Just Boot Things book is being developed as original writing. If we eventually feature reader-submitted anecdotes, illustrations or photographs, we will treat permission as a contract—not an assumption.
What we are developing
Short observational chapters, original illustrations and a coherent narrative about moving from the awkwardness of being new to a healthier, more grounded kind of belonging.
What we will not do
- Copy subreddit threads, screenshots, jokes or comments and call them book material.
- Publish somebody else's personal story without clear authorization and editorial review.
- Publish sensitive operational details, confidential documents or identifying information about unconsenting private people.
- Imply that the publication is official military training or affiliated with a Reddit community.
Rights ledger
For each externally contributed item, a future editor should retain a written license, scope of use, credit preference, privacy review, modification permissions, and an agreed process for dispute resolution.
